On Aug. 8, 2013 Shenyang Chemical Operation Vocational Skill Contest dropped the curtain as the last competitor handed in successfully.
Just ten days ago Shenyang Chemical Analysis Vocational Skill Contest was concluded in Shenyang Chemical Co. Ltd.
This year two chemical contests are held meanwhile in Shenyang and both hosted by Shenyang Chemical Group that had successfully organized 3 times operation vocational skill contests and 1 time analysis contest previously. But two contests conducted at the same time was an unprecedented challenge for the organizing staff of Shenyang Chemical Group. With the support and guidance of Shenyang Municipal Federation of Labor Union and Shenyang Municipal Machinery & Chemical Federation, Shenyang Chemical Group established a leading group, worked out and issued a contest implementation plan as well as called a coordinated meeting many times by the staff from the labor unions of Shenyang Chemical, Shenyang Paraffin-wax and Jinbilan to mobilize operators and analyzers to participate in the contests. There were 551 chemical workers to register in the contests very soon.
Analysis contest site was located in Shenyang Chemical Co. Ltd. In order to ensure smooth process, Shenyang Chemical conducted an internal skill contest in June so that it can help verify the work procedure, check the leaks and find solution of the problems to lay solid foundation for the next formal contests. Shenyang Paraffin-wax with the highest automation level in the Group dispatched 155 workers to join the event. The labor union of Shenyang Paraffin-wax has experience in training and organizing. On one hand they collected all exam questions from previous contest and issued to participants, and on the other hand they actively coordinate with the plants to arrange the time reasonably to ensure enough preparation for players.
Shenyang Chemical Group has greatly attached importance to frontline workers at all times, especially in aspect of knowledge level and professional ability. The Group and the affiliated enterprises launched skill trainings and contests regularly each year to urge the workers to read useful books, study more and improve their professional quality. In 2007 when the first Millions of Talents Cultivation Project and Workers Vocational Contests were originated in Shenyang, chemical analyzer is the first chemical job type to list into the contest and Shenyang Chemical Group is the first company to organize the competition. In 2010 Shenyang Chemical Group again hosted the first chemical operation contest. This year two chemical contests are conducted in the same year for the first time and it brings with upgrading platforms for more workers in Shenyang chemical section, which are welcomed highly by them. On the day of the final match of analysis contest it suddenly stormed, but no one were absent at this match since 40 attendants treasured the contest very much.
The contests offered opportunity for workers to enrich knowledge, enhance competence and make a platform for progress and promotion. Up to now Shenyang Chemical Group has sent 1811 person/times to involve in the activities, of whom 13 frontline workers are promoted to senior technician, 50 to technician, 155 persons to senior workers. By this contest, excellent post 80s senior technicians like Liu Yiming and Lichao stood out and became “Shenyang Technical Skill King” and labor model. Shenyang Chemical Group inclined to technical workers in salary system, providing technical compensations respectively for senior technicians and technicians to drive them to seek excellence and delve into work.
